We were able to score tickets to a farm tour while visiting California. It was a wonderful tour, so informative. We saw the worm bed, cattle pastures, chicken pens, the pig Iddie Biddy (a descendant of Emma), and the fruit trees from Alan York's Lookout. We had been wanting to tour for years and were ecstatic that we were able to make it happen. The best part of the tour was when we had a chance to talk with John. He graciously answered all our questions and even posed for a picture with us. We are somewhat farm nerds, so this was an extremely interesting and meaningful tour. Crazily, as we were driving out of the farm, a coyote ran across the road in front of our car. If you have seen the documentary, you know the significance of the sighting. Highly recommend this experience!!
Incredible. Molly and John came out to talk with us at the end of the 2h tour. Inspiring and uplifting — what a beautiful day. Great, thorough tour and kind accommodations for those who may have trouble walking sometimes bumpy paths. Every morsel from the farm stand was delicious that afternoon and day after day. The most incredible eggs, avocados, and figs you have ever tasted. Get them whenever and wherever you can. Worth it ❤️❤️
Went about a year ago. In the tour description it said we would meet Emma the pig upon arrival we were notified Emma had passed away a couple months prior. So be aware if you are going to only meet Emma she is No longer on the farm. I had spent about 200 bucks just to meet Emma and nope nothing. The tour is alright. You can visit small other farms and get the same if not a better experience over hyped in my opinion! Save your buck go to a local farm!
Our farm experience was simply wonderful! We had booked a farm tour for 1 p.m. and visited the farm stand beforehand. There we not only met Molly, John and Beaudie, but also stocked up on delicious fruit and vegetables. The staff across the farm were incredibly friendly and accommodating!
And the highlight is the guided tour with so many interesting facts and information about the biodynamic cultivation of food and the history of the farm. To top it all off, there was another question and answer session with John, Molly and Beaudie.
What friendly, grounded people on such a lively, diverse piece of earth!
My favorite Saturday farmstand! I look forward to visiting during the spring and summer- it's always inspirational, beautiful and a fun Moorpark adventure for my family.
i arrived june 23rd 1987, i stormed the beaches of vietnam. i do not like discussing my time on apricot lane farm, the trenches filled me with sorrow. please stay away from this unrelenting war zone, i lost many friends to the ferocious animals and living plants. i still march for my home country to this day, forever holding onto the memories of apricot lane.
The person I talked to was very helpful and enjoyable.
Just watched the documentary about Apricot Lane Farms on Netflix.
What a beautiful lesson!
It's a family... you all encountered harmony by 'coexisting with Nature in a balanced level of disarming - this is the simple ecosystem.
We broke that with industries pesticides overpopulation urbanization...
Allan & you all brought it back.
It's not a dream
It's possible!
THANK YOU
Hope to visit someday.
